Bo Bunny goodness ...

Andrea recently sent me a Bo Bunny Sweet Tooth collection pack to play with .... just gorgeous!

Here is a cute little recipe book that I made using this very funky papers ...

I got two chipboard squares, for the front and back covers (6x6) and covered with my selected paper, than covered with a layer of mod podge to give it more of a 'water/splatter' proof covering ;)

I then personalised the book with stickers from the stick sheet included in the pack ... this one being for my 'baker' girl Emma ...

I then cut up two of the sheets of paper that had 6x4 recipe cards on them ...

Also added some cards I bought from the stationery shop for more recipes ...

The collection pack is fantastic value and contains 2 sheets of each double sided patterned papers and a sheet of stickers/alphas.

I have a couple of layouts almost completed ... so stayed tuned!

Some inspiration ...

... from a new (ish) manufacturer called Simple Stories.

The collection packs are quite good value - not just with the idea of creating layout, but more along the lines of creating albums to record events (school, holidays etc).

This pack - Elementary - enables to you to quickly create an album in which to collect all that school memorabilia ...

This first pic shows some of the 6x4 cards to record details of each year of school. I have cut them into individual cards and used a WRMK page refills with the 6x4 slots. I have then recorded the details and added the school photo from the that year.

The following layout uses some of the journalling card along one of the papers in the pack to record a homework image ...

And this layout uses more of the cards (cut from a 12x12 sheet of them), along with stickers from the collection pack ...

A great value collection pack with a selection of papers, 12x12 sheets of journalling cards, year cards and stickers.

Scrap secret shared

Tonight for check it out Tuesday I thought Id share a scrap secret with you...

I'm a shocker at deciding what background to use for my layouts. I tend to choose my photo and embellishments then spend hours, somtimes even days pondering over what background paper/card to use.

This can be quite a time wasting exercise...BUT....I got smart and now I always sit my photos and embellishments on a 12 X 12 piece of heavy duty transparency when I begin a new layout. That way I can simply place the piece of transparency over card stocks and papers, without have to disassemble my page every time!

...still not an easy choice,but at least I do not have to disassemble and re assemble my page between each swap! Once my decision is made I simply slide everything off the transparency and attach the pieces onto my prefer'ed background.

Halloween Treat Toppers

So our family really loves Halloween. I know we don’t really celebrate it here in New Zealand, but our suburb actually does get quite into it, so my boys love it, and I love decking out the house in a bit of spooky decor.

This Halloween I have created a little treat topper for my Freddo Frogs i plan on giving out. What do you think:

Add a little Pop to your next photo

Hi there, today I thought I'd share a photo editing tip with you, its one I use for almost every photo I print out. Check out the photos below.

Here is my photo, before editing.....

and the same photo after editing.....

I use Adobe Photoshop CS2

Here's what I do.

Before you start go to the top of the tool bar, click on WINDOWS and check to see that LAYERS (from the drop down menu is ticked) Tick it if it is not.

Open up your photo.

At the top of your tool bar (near the top of your screen) click on LAYER.

From the drop down menu select DUPLICATE LAYER
You will get a box pop up that looks like this...

Click OK

Go to the Layers palette (shown below)

Click on NORMAL, you will get a drop down menu, and from this menu select SCREEN

Click on the word OPACITY and slide the slider button to the right, until you are happy with the look of your photo (I have the opacity set to 52 % for this photo) see below.

Click on Layer again, back at the top of the main tool bar

...and again click on DUPLICATE LAYER, from the drop down menu.

Click OK
Go back to your Layers palette , and this time instead of selecting Screen, select OVERLAY from the drop down menu.

Move the OPACITY slider again until you are happy with the look of your image.

Flatten your Image by clicking on LAYER on the main tool bar near the top of your screen and select FLATTEN IMAGE, near the bottom of the drop down menu. Now ... print and scrap.

Week 4 - Kiwi Challenge - Remoteness

' New Zealand is notable for it's geographical isolation: it is situated about 2,000 kilometres (1,200 miles) southeast of Australia across the Tasman Sea, and it's closest neighbours to the north are New Caledonia, Fiji and Tonga' [source Wikipedia]

Now translating this into scrapbooking ... this week's challenge is to create a layout with 'white space'.

One of the most basic aspects of your scrapbook page design is how you arrange all the elements on your page. White space can be an important element in your page design, it can make a dramatic impact on your layout, it can help you focus on the important parts of your layout. Don't feel that all empty space on your layout must be filled.

Have you seen the challenge for week 2? - National colours

The challenge this week is to complete a layout using - BLACK AND WHITE.

You can use a colour photo but every element from your cardstock to your embellishments need to be BLACK & WHITE.

You have until tomorrow midnight to upload your layouts.

Hi this technique is so easy to do and really effective as you can see from the selection above

Firstly you need newspaper and a baby wipe folded into 4 Tim Holtz Distress ink refills and your fav stamps.
Add a few drops of each colour I have used 3 to the baby wipe.

Then press your stamp firmly onto the wipe and then on to your paper.You can use as many colours as you like .If its a larger stamp fold it in 2 and use two wipes together.

Great for card making borders there are lots of ways you can use this technique and there are so many colours in the range your spoilt for choice.Its another handy way to utilies an already brilliant product.

Paper flowers

I love making these flowers, they're easy and they're gorgeous.

Step 1:

cut 6 circles the same size.

Step 2:
Ink around edges and scrunch.

Unscrunch & spray with glimmermist, lightly dab excess with a tissue. While still damp scrunch up into a ball again, then unscrunch.

Step 3:

When nearly dry layer each circle on top of each other gluing each one in place with a small dob of tombow & arranging as you go till you get to the top layer.

When happy with how your petals are scrunched add kindglitz & bling.

Have fun.

EGGS FOR BREAKFAST ANYONE?

Ok I admit it I just hate throwing away anything!! I have a belief that one day that very thing that my Hubby wants to chuck out and which may look hopeless now may come in very useful!! Between you and me those very days where things have come in very useful are very rare! And so to my scrapping room – I have a little (which is growing bigger) stash of product packaging which I have been saving for that “very useful day” – and guess what TODAY IS THE DAY. I am on tuesday tips/techniques - so for this I challenged myself to do a layout with only packaging…

So I started with this …

Added this…

Made these...

And ended up with this…

I think I achieved the challenge although I did call in help from some alpha stickers!!

So what tips did I pick up doing this layout:
1. Don’t throw away anything!!
2. Most of the plastic packaging is sturdy enough to curl, make pockets out of and twist and turn to make ribbons!
3. Have eggs for breakfast! The humble egg carton was great through the cuttlebug and the glimmermist just loved it. If you take a closer look – the humble egg carton is what I used to make the flowers – here’s how:

To make the flowers

1. Cut the egg holder off the carton and trim to make even
2. Make some cuts down to the base and snip the ends to make a petal shape
3. Make one slightly smaller by trimming the egg holder closer to the base
4. Push flat and glimmermist
5. Use double sided tape on a piece of card and coil the string around to make the centre – trim and adhere
6. Add plastic ribbons and leaves from corrugated cardboard and green packaging to complete the embellishment
7. I also took the flat pieces of the egg carton and embossed with the cuttlebug – then inked them for the top and bottom pieces of the layout.

So in doing this I hope you all will find new inspiration in your humble egg carton!!

GLIMMERMIST

As you know I used Glimmermist and the new Glimmermist Chalkboard in my DT work this month so this will just wraps things up nicely.

Glimmermist comes in a wide range of colours with varying shades of the rainbow. The great thing is that it compliments a layout by adding shimmer – the possibilities are endless.

You can use glimmermist on just about any type of absorbent surface, chipboard, paper, tissue, c/s, fabrics, lace, twill, etc…

I like using the simple technique of lightly spraying glimmermist over my c/s.

Or you can spray heavily to give more of an overall coverage.

My favourite way to use glimmermist is to take the spray nozzle off, dip a thin artist brush into the mist bottle then flick only my c/s, this gives you a gorgeous splattered look.

Then of course you can use a simple technique of masking then spraying glimmermist over your mask. To mirror image your masked image all you neeed to do is lift the mask after spraying turn over & press down.

A fun thing to do when using the masking technique is firstly spray your work with one colour, when dry place your mask over it then spray with a different colour.

Tips on using Glimmermist:

1. Always shake the bottle gently from side to side making sure all the glimmer is mixed, if the glimmer isn’t mixed well the sprayer sucks to much glimmer partials which can then block the nozzle.

2. Keep old nozzle once bottles are finished in case some stop working.

3. For a light misted look, hold the glimmermist away from your work & spray quickly.

4. For a heavier look, hold the glimmermist up closer to your work.

5. To avoid staining on your fingertip make sure your finger doesn’t hang over the top edge of the sprayer, keeping your finger back also allows the glimmermist to spray out at its full spray range.

Hi Guys
My turn for the sketch challenge this week - I apologise now as I have only done a few sketches in my life time - I think this is number 2!!! so be gentle with it
Have put together a sketch - a layout based on the sketch titled GIGGLE and a card. My latest challenge is to create a card with the scraps from every layout I do with the hope of getting a stash together. I am forever trying to get a card done at the last minute so this way I should hopefully have a stash to call on. So the card is def optional!!
Hope you all have fun with the sketch - you have until midnight next Thursday to load a LO based on the sketch and a winner will be drawn from the entries for a fabulous SBO RAK

Thursday Challenge - Create a Tag

Liven up your next scrap booking page with a tag.
Your tag can be as simple, or as complex as you wish to make it.

Create your tag from chipboard, stampboard, fabric, paper, anything at all!
I tend to save all of our clothing tags , you know, the cardboard ones that come with your new clothes. These are often so simple to convert into funky tags that can add a little 'bling'

This tag looked perfect for my next 'boy' page...

...all that was needed was a couple of ribbon scraps, two buttons, some thread and rub-ons.

How to Create a Simple Tag

Cover your base shape with paper

Use up scrap pieces of paper and punches to create fancy edges.

Cut favorite images from paper, use rub-ons, especially parts of those old ones that have bits missing!

Use up your stash of ribbon and fibre scraps. add buttons and stamped images.

Use bold, or complementary colours and patterns.

Dig into the bottom of you scrap stash for 'treasures' that may have been sitting there unused for a very long time!

Make a pile of tags and keep on hand, they can often add that 'little finishing touch' you were looking for!

Painted Leaves

Take a little inspiration from nature and create your own leaves for your scrapbook pages.

Choose either one leaf, or grab a whole handful, as I have.

Take a little bit of paint, I like to use a few colours just to add variety. If you do not have paint use stamp pads. Use a brush, or your finger to spread paint, or ink onto your leaf.

Put your leaf, paint side down onto a piece of scrap paper. Use a roller, or your hand to transfer the paint onto the paper. Gently peel your leaf off.

Use any scrap paper, or card that you like. Experiment with different colours and patterns.

Leave your painted leaves to dry before you cut them out. Spray on a little Glimmer Mist to add a sheen if you like and...

busy week on the forum

well this week was the first for our new Design Team. Given that they had only recieved their boxes of goodies last week, except for 2 who got theirs on Monday, they all did really well to get some work into their galleries by Tuesday. I hope you've had a chance to take a look and leave them a comment, I think they will appreciate it!

I used the Max and Whiskers – Hercules paper on the canvas I have done for my sister who has just last week had to put her beloved dog down.
I didn’t think about it at the time but it is an apt name for the paper I used as Tyson was not a little puppy to say the least!!!

I used a Basic Grey chipboard album - Lotus for the Our Pets album below. They are brilliant to work with – 8 pages in dark chocolate so the white pen worked a treat for the faux stitching on the album.

Hi and welcome to CHECK IT OUT TUESDAY

Each week we will have a tip or technique for you to try out on your layouts or projects.

My name is Jane and I am going to show you how to make a very simple but effective flower,that you can put your own personal touches to and use on lots of different projects.I have put together a step by step

tutorial and if you have any questions please feel free to post on the forum.

Here are two examples of how you can use the flower to embellish your projects

Instructions

1. Firstly cut a strip of pp aprox 1 1/4 or wider depending on how big you want your flower to be.

2. Then use a decorative punch to make a nice edge.

3. Start to fold in a concertina fashion to the end.

4. Adhere the two ends together to form a circle I used double sided tabs.

5. Next punch out or cut a circle out of scrap card.

6. Place the circle pp face up on your workbench and gently press the pleats together.

Glue the flower onto the circle and hold down till glue sets. I use the tacky fast drying glue.

Now you can add your centre and ink the edges if you like or you could decorate with glimmer mist or kindyglitzs its your choice.

I hope you have lots of fun being creative AND I look forward to seeing lots of these lovely flowers on your layouts in the gallery...

Okay I am 10 days late but I hope you are all enjoying your summer holidays and have had a great start to the New Year!

I created this layout the other day.

Instead of using patterned paper I have used a page from a Making Memories spiral journaling book (5th avenue) and some Prima ribbon. With the ribbon I have created a frame for the photo, created a background layer for a prima trellis rose (which has been coloured with glimmer mist) and used a strip under the photo frame.

With the letter A I have coloured it with distress ink, stamped a swirl pattern with black staz on and then covered with dimensional magic.

A Travel Album using Making Memories Vintage Findings

I came up with the concept for this album almost 2 years ago but never completed it. I must have been waiting for the MM Vintage Findings collection!

The idea started as an idea for a mini travel album made from postcards while away on a trip. I am terrible at journalling but thought I was able to handle filling out a postcard each night to summarise the day. Also I thought if you were actually overseas you could send them home and then you would get stamps and postmarks from where you visited. We were only going to Taupo but we did lots of day trips and most places had postcards featuring their attraction. I also thought it was good way of getting 'pictures' to supplement the photos I took.

When I got home however I also had quite a bit of memobrilia which was too big to bind with the postcards without being folded. So my idea evolved and I decided to include some pocket pages to put in the memobrillia. Using the gorgeous double sided papers from the MM Vintage collection also provided room on the back of each pocket page. That made me think that it would be cool to put random photos from the trip in there as well. So the mini album has turned out to be a complete summary of our trip - daily journaling on the postcards, memobrillia in the pocket pages and photos from the trip as well.

The pocket pages I made to fit the different pieces of memobrillia so they are different sizes. Also I let some of the memobrillia poke up the top and some I made the back of pocket bigger (at the top) than the memobrillia. This gives the album an eclectic feel. The trick with the pocket pages was to make them wide enought to fit the memobrillia and still have room for the binding. Basically I cut a width of paper and then folded up an appropriate amound of paper to create a pocket. I then glued the edges of the pocket. With some of the actual pockets I folded back the top of pocket to create a border and one I shaped with a scallop punch. The possibilities are endless!

The cover I made from some cardboard and distressed and decorated using the Vintage Findings Travel collection. The papers and embellishments thorughout the album are from the MM Vintage Findings collection. The letters (Taupo) are Thickers and the script stamp on some of the pages is from the Glitz Design Distressing 2 stamp set.

I have been playing with the Flower Frenzy 12x12 one which is very very cool. A tip is to put a little removable adhesive on the back of it and adhere it to your background and it stays in one place while you use it.

For my first play I traced it with an ink pen, then with my fiskars shape cutter cut out parts of it. I then coloured it using chalks and a blender pen.

I have to admit it was pretty time consuming although I loved the effect. I got thinking that it might be quicker if I traced the template and then colour in parts with black pen instead of the cutting. This time I coloured in with twinkling H2o's and soufle pens.

Both these techniques are very effective but you do need some time to execute them.

One of my favourite things with these templates (and it is very quick!) is to use them as a mask. It is as simple as putting the template on your background cardstock or pp and spraying with Glimmer Mist. Carefully remove the template and you have a very quick and easy background.

I hate to waste the glimmermist which remains on the template so I 'stamped' the template onto another piece of cardstock. I then cleaned off any remianing glimmer mist off the template. Put the template back over the 'stamped' image and sprayed with a different colour.

My next thing on my list is to trace onto to acetate and use maybe alcohol inks to colour! There are so many ways these templates can be used.

Making Chipboard Buttons

When looking at the trends that came out of Summer CHA, chipboard buttons were one thing on the trendy list. And the cool thing is that they are super easy to make! I remembered seeing somone mentioned making some on sistv awhile ago and had thought to myself at the time I must try that one day!

For a basic chipboard button you need chipboard, scrap patterned paper and dimensional magic.

If you have a punch that can punch through chipboard, punch a shape (it doesnt have to be circle!) from chipboard and then one from scrap patterned paper.

Glue the two pieces together.

Punch two small holes in the middle (I used a cropodile). To get the holes even in the middle I used a large normal button I had and used that as a template.

Then if you have some Dimensional Magic, carefully put over the 'button'. Leave to dry. It gives a nice glossy finish. I tried PVA glue as well, which dries clear but doesnt give quite as a glossy finish.

You dont have to use patterned paper. You can ink, paint, kindy glitz, stamping, embossing. Your imagination is your limit. I havent even began to start playing with the endless possibilities for making chipboard buttons.

I have used a circle punch with thin chipboard and preshaped chipboard circles for making these buttons.

And a layout using some of the buttons.

Altering Paper Flowers

A quick and easy way to transform plain paper flowers with some embroidery floss and some cutting!

Take a needle, some floss, some scissors and some paper flowers.

And transform them like this.....

Take a approx 10cm length of floss and tie a knot in one end (I used 3 knots for these). Thread onto a needle.
Using the needle and thread 'sew' the piece of floss throught the flower with the knot side on the top of the flower. Trim both ends as required.
For a little more dimension take 2 flowers and cut each petal down the middle 3 to 4 mm. Sew the thread through both flowers. Trim as rquired. To make buds take the flowers and scrunch them all up after you have put the floss though.

I used this technique on this layout where I have used the August kit. Full layout can be seen in the gallery.

Fancy Pants

I love how in the Fancy Pants collections there is a sheet of patterned paper called 'Cards'. It is double sided with one side being patterned and the other 12 awesome little cards.

This sheet of little cards is so versatile. You can use them as journaling cards, matts, patterned paper, backgrounds for ATC's and more. I love to make little books out of them because they provide such a cool background to work with.

For this little book I cut out 4 x 2 cards and folded them in half. I rounded the ends with a corner rounder. I placed them inside each other and then bound them with a ribbon from the middle to the outside (pierced two holes first). I just added photos and captions and it was all done. A little book for my daughter with some of the things that make her smile / happy. Here are some of the pages.

On the front I have used the pp to create beads for extra dimension. I have used some plastic packaging to create a clear title page.

Giving photos

I'm sure that most of you, like me, are now the nominated, if not expected photographer in your family/ group of friends. Me, I don't mind a bit, I LOVE giving people photographs after an event or shoot and seeing the recipients face as they view their images.
As the one who gives the photos I was struggling with a nice way to give people their photos without them getting bent or squashed in transit. with Arlo on my hip things don't often stay pristine!!! So, I came up with this...
A cute envelope/photo pocket, perfect for presenting and storing.
One piece of Sassafras, a bit of ribbon and a stamp. Little effort, big impact.

All I did was cut the paper to size, stitch down both sides (with the ribbon in the fold to hold it in place) attach the paper edge that comes with Sassafras and stamp onto the ribbon. Then I used my 7 Gypsies stamp to add a Who/what/when/where on the front and it was done in less than 5 min.

I'll be back later with some sneaks of my design team layouts for this month!

Making Memories Love Notes Mini Book

The 8x8 Love Notes mini kit is an awesome pack of supplies to be able to complete an album. It is a tabbed album held together with rings so you can make this as 'fat' as you like. It has 4 tabbed pages and 2 pages between each tabs so that is 24 pages to create from. It comes with 8 sheets of 8x8 paper, 6 paper diecuts, 4 paper blossoms, 4 brads, 20 pebble stickers and 264 alpha stickers. There is lots in this kit to create with.

I have turned mine into a Loving Life album and used each section to represent a season. I have just completed Summer using the Love Notes range. I have decided to do each of the seasons in a different range of colours. I have created this album as a reminder of the things I love about each season.

Note - I have used some other stuff the Love Notes range as well in this album.

My Minds Eye Bella Bella

There are two beautiful ranges within this range - Bellezo and French Fleamarket. As I said in my sneak peak the muted colours, the patterns and the solid colours are wonderful to work with.

With morning beauty I have used one of the framed patterned papers to create this layout. The word beauty was already on the background and I added 'morning' to it by stamping on acetate. I have used some of the diecuts and added stamped frames to my photo and one of the journaling blocks to tie in with the patterned paper.

The Decisions layout also heavily relies on the gorgeous printed background. Here I partially cut out the flower and butterfly from the background to add dimension and put another colour underneath them. The bottom strip of the patterned paper is also used.

I adore this picture my mum gave me of my dad. It gives me a glimpse of the boy he was. The papers were perfect for this photo. I cut out from 2 different pieces for the embellishments and used the front and back (middle section) of one piece of patterned paper to create the framed affect.

I have created 2 more layouts using these ranges but you'll have to wait until the ezine is out to see them!

Okay it is only a few hours until tomorrow but I thought I would share a couple of close ups of some of the layouts I have been working on with the My Minds Eye Bella Bella range. I have been using both the Bellezo and French Fleamarket. The muted colours, the patterns and the solid colours are so devine to work with. The patterns allow very quick layouts without adding much more or they can be used as a base for a complex layout. The solid colours on back just makes it so much easier to coordinate things.

Exciting news from Autumn Escape!

The Autumn Escape is looking for a creative team!! We are looking for 3 Autumn Escape attendees to be part of the inspiration for the weekend!

What will the Creative Team be doing?

The Autumn Escape weekend is going to be huge. We have a whole lot planned. From classes, to make n takes, competitions, not to mention endless inspiration. We will have a retail space with a large variety of new product, and we want to dress it up!

The Autumn Escape Creative team will receive a selection of product in the mail. Their job will be to play and create to their hearts desire with predominantly exciting new product! Layouts and projects will be used for display purposes at the Autumn Escape. It's that simple!

How do I apply?!

It's easy - you don't need to create anything new or unseen. We don't want this to be tough! Send along details about yourself with three examples of your artwork, plus links to galleries or blogs if you have them, to nic.paul@xtra.co.nz by 5pm, 26th March 2009. Please put the title "Autumn Escape Creative Team' in the subject line. Please keep images under 150kb each and no more than 6 images per email please.

What will you be looking for?

Firstly, we won't be judging! We know too many people going to the retreat for that to be a fair option. We'll be passing that part on to someone totally neutral in the U.S.A. We might even get some of our sponsors to take a look at the entries! We won't be looking for anything fancy schmancy, we will be asking the judges to look for good use of scrapbooking product. The kind of style that will inspirational to many people.

What will the benefits be?

Firstly - new scrapbooking product! Scrapbook Outlet NZ, in conjuction with other sponsors, is kindly helping us with this initiative. It's not meant to be something burdening, in need of payment or reward, it's meant to be a chance for three attendees to receive new scrapbooking product and create projects at their own pace. Projects will be displayed at the Autumn Escape, for the weekend May 1st - 3rd 2009. Artist's names will be displayed by each project, giving exposure to the large range of scrapbooking industry people at the event. Images of the projects may also be used on the internet, both on the Autumn Escape blog, and the Scrapbooking Outlet NZ website.

1. Applicants must be registered as an attendee of Autumn Escape at time of entering the Creative Team call. Registration of the Autumn Escape is open until 7th April 2009. Applications for the Creative Team close 26 March 2009.
2. Autumn Escape will endeavour to have products in the mail to each chosen member by the 4th April 2009.
3. Creative Team Members will create a minimum of 3 projects by 20th April 2009, more can be created if the Creative Team member desires.
4. Creative Team Members agree to send through web-ready images to the Autumn Escape of each product they create.
5. Creative Team Members understand the images can be used on the internet on both the Autumn Escape blog, as well as Scrapbook Outlet NZ blog. Creative Members cannot be bound by any previous contract that prevents them from sharing images on either site.
6. Creative Team members retain ownership of the physical artwork and it will be returned to them.

Feb Kit creations

So many reds and pinks...this piece of red paper has been so versatile....I used it straight away to cover my diary for this year (it was one of those blue A5 ones with a day to a page and the scrapbooker came to the fore in my need to cover it! the left over pieces have been brilliant for making cards!

Kia Ora Card - used the cricut to cut out the star burst type pattern (home accents cart maybe), some bling and a 'kia ora' stamp.

A Little Something - that red paper, a white frame from a cricut 'story book' cartridge and the cool wee stickers from the kit too.

the red paper, the same white frame used on the card but this time glimmer misted, scraps of paper for the month dividers and left over number stickers from Vicky's SENZ classes in 2008!

Hi again, Vicky here. As I mentioned below this month I used the new ranges from 3 Bugs in a Rug. These papers are really diverse and as you can see below I favoured the polka dots :)

I hope you see something here that sparks a little creative flare in your brain LOL.

Little Yellow Bicycle

This month I got to use the papers, flocked alphabet, cardstock journalling stickers, clear cuts frames and titles and flocked dimensional stickers from the fabulous love letters range (Little Yellow Bicycle). The flocked papers in this range are gorgeous as are the double sided and shaped papers.

Thank you to Jenny and Julie for letting me play with their photos too.

This adorable photo is from Julie. I altered it PS Elements to give it a vintage look. The flowers I have made from the patterned paper using the slice and then the cuttlebug to emboss them.

This is a shaped piece of cardstock, the black is just the background I photographed it on. It uses one of the clear cut frames cut in half. Also hard to see in a photo but the black paper and the dotted paper is flocked and have such a gorgeous texture.

Here I have distress inked the flocked paper to make it stand out more. This photo was taken by Michelle from Michelle Wobcke Photography.

Jenny gave me these fab photos to work with. I added some stamped trees because they just finished it off so nicely.

Clear Album

Okay Christmas was a few weeks ago now! However I have just finished this clear album with images from my Xmas 2008. I based it around a quote I found in the Fancy Pants products! And I used lots of yummy products from SBO

Random ribbons from my stash

I rubbed the edges of the clear album with versamark and used gold embossing powder and heated for a unique edging. Also outlined with black stazon for definition.

I used transparencies and sheer delights for extra pages and adding depth.

Using different size photos helps the images to show through from back to front.

Using paint as an adhesive is a fabulous way of adhering elements.

Also using double sided paper as matts is a good way for both sides to look good. When I used single sided elements I painted or inked the back to make it better visually on the other side.

using Making Memories 12 x 12 Page Kit Fa La La. Can I first say that this kit is gorgeous with 2 sheets each of a solid and 2 patterned papers, alphas, poinsettas, YUMMY journalling tags and a word / embellishment sheet. Everything you need to create some fabulous layouts and 6 christmas crackers!

I got to Tuesday and realised I hadnt organised the teacher gifts. I normally make something for the kids teachers and then have something small to hand out to the important people at the school who the kids interact with but arent teachers. So for the small gifts I decided to wrap small packets of chocolated as a Christmas Cracker. These crackers dont pop and bang but they look cute!

In addition to the kit I used empty paper towel insert (cut in half), some ferror roche chocolates (pack of 3) and some ribbon.
So easy to make. And I have heaps of product left to make some layouts which I will post a little latter.
